This course serves as an overview of the organizational roles and responsibilities in administering athletic and extra-curricular student programs. It will focus on philosophical and organizational approaches to various athletic programs; ranging from the middle school to intercollegiate levels. In addition, athletic programs and their relationships with local, state and national associations (as well as optional certification elements) will be examined. Topics will include: philosophy of athletics programming, organizational structures, rationale communications and effective leadership.
Note: This course and all other courses in this Masters in Education in Athletic Administration will have learner outcomes aligned with standards from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association (NIAAA) Codes of Ethics, and the International School Leadership Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) standards.
